Purple Heart
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
Nietzche

This book is 10 years in the making. I wanted to release into the wild, the emotions in me that did not belong with each other, but seemed inseparable just the same. At the core of all my poems is a sentiment waiting to be felt, so I hope you give it a chance to ripple through your core and make home in your soul. These poems encompass everything from my conversations with peace to my walks with surly poets, heavenly games to rotting crops. I hope the poems let you step out of yourself and experience the world through someone else’s emotional lens. And I hope the poem you read today is undeniably everything you ever needed from life. Just for today.
“Purple Heart pages as if an ageless wisdom is being revealed within modern circumstances of life events. I certainly hope to see many future books from this talented poet, writer, artist and philosopher – Nefy. Purple Heart by Nefy is a collection of feelings straight from the author’s heart that will touch all readers.” – Barbara Miller, Pacific Book review
“The author’s book is part social commentary, part philosophical reflection, and part individualistic manifesto. Readers of Yrsa Daley-Ward, Rupi Kaur, and Nikita Gill will not be disappointed with this offering.”- The US review of Books
